Joey Forest is an accidental cowboy. A Californian by birth, Texan by choice, and a Waylander by nature: someone who finds a path where there isn't one. He has never claimed to be a cowboy. Instead, he's drawn to what the cowboy represents: independence, resilience, and the instinct to make something from nothing.

His philosophy is simple: If you ask me to build it, I'll build it. If I can't, it doesn't exist. And if it doesn't exist, I'll invent it.

A truck driver turned musician, and a musician turned painter, Joey never planned to become a visual artist. While touring independently, he couldn't afford to hire designers for his concert posters, so he taught himself to draw. In the process, he redisovered a passion he'd left behind as a child.

After returning home from one tour, he painted a cowboy. Then another. Before long, those figures became a world of their own. Without meaning to, Joey had found a new language, one that carries the same grit, independence, and restless spirit that has always driven his music.
